Peter J. Brown
Peter has defended public agencies in discrimination, harassment and wrongful termination cases as well as cases involving the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Public Employees' Retirement Law, the First Amendment, and numerous other cases alleging statutory and contractual violations. Peter has also defended many public agencies against Writs of Mandate involving employee discipline, intricate provisions of the California Education Code and alleged violations of the collective bargaining law, and the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act. In addition to litigation, Peter spends much of his time in administrative hearings, including, arbitrations regarding employee discipline and grievances and unfair labor practice hearings. Peter is also the chief negotiator at several collective bargaining tables.

 Brian WalterBrian's expert practice of labor and employment law has focused particularly on issues involving law enforcement agencies, emphasizing Fair Labor Standards Act issues. In addition, his work also encompasses the full range of employment law issues, including labor relations, employment discrimination, discipline and due process, wrongful termination, privacy, and personnel matters. Brian has been involved in an array of litigation and administrative proceedings in these areas.

 Richard C. BolanosRick is managing partner of the Firm's
San Francisco Office. He has an exclusive practice representing California cities, school districts and special districts in labor relations, negotiation of collective agreements, representation in disciplinary proceedings, arbitration of grievances, mediations, fact-finding hearings and special counsel in defense of employment discrimination claims in federal court and administrative forums.

 Cynthia O'NeillCynthia has represented cities, counties, and special districts in disciplinary appeals, administrative hearings, contract interpretation, arbitrations, collective bargaining and negotiations, and litigation. She has successfully represented clients both during trial and on appeal, and was one of the attorneys of record on the Ninth Circuit Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) opinions of Barner v. City of Novato (9th Cir. 1994) 17 F.3d 1256, and Stanley, et al. v. City of Tracy (9th Cir. 1997) 120 F.3d 179. She drafted an appellate amicus brief on behalf of 136 California cities and towns in Stewart/Chan v. City and County of San Francisco (1993) 834 F.Supp. 1233, affirmed by unpublished opinion (9th Cir. 1995).
